Dreaming of My Very Own Spa Bath

I've been thinking of keeping the extra bath upstairs just locked up as i dread the thought of cleaning 4 bathrooms a day. Then came this idea of using this extra bath as a spa kind of bath. A place I (or we) can pamper myself once in a while. There will be less cleaning of course as it will not be used everyday.

Wow! I can't wait to transform this room. Thanks to my husband for insisting on a bathtub for our master bath. Its where I got the idea from as I don't want it in the master bath (too much cleaning work). So, both get what we want & I'm sure the kids gonna be more excited...

I found this article published 3 years ago @ iVillage which could inspire you to get your own spa too...

Affordable Ways to Create Your Own Spa Bath

By Michele Capozzoli   Source: http://www.ivillage.com

Imagine yourself relaxing in a big spa bathtub, surrounded by bubbles, with candles flickering in the background. Sound relaxing? You don't need to buy an expensive day at a spa to find an escape like this. Make your bathroom into a place here you can retreat from the stresses of the day for less money than you think. Try these easy and affordable ideas to transform your bathroom into your own private oasis.

The Right Light

Finding the right lighting for your bath can be tricky since your bathroom requires many different kinds of light to meet all your needs. It needs task lighting that's bright when you're putting on your makeup or brushing your teeth, but you also want to be able to turn the lights down when you're relaxing in the tub. One inexpensive way to adjust your lighting is to install a dimmer switch. They're available at most hardware stores and are easy to install.

Clean and Organized

A disorganized bathroom can feel cramped, so be sure to keep the clutter of toiletries to a minimum. Stash cosmetics and other products in the medicine cabinet, under the vanity or in the linen closet. The clean, sparse effect will help you let go of your worries so you can relax without the reminders of your daily routine.

Pamper Yourself

There's nothing like the feeling of wrapping yourself in a big, plush spa towel. Pamper yourself by splurging on a large bath sheet that will envelope you completely when you step out of the bath. Choose a towel that's soft and absorbent for that spa-like feeling.

Protect Your Feet

A bath mat is essential for a spa bath. Nothing can shock you back down to earth after your relaxing bath like the feeling of cold tile on your warm toes. Choose a mat that covers a large section of the floor so that you'll have room to move around without having to step on the floor.

Set the Mood

Set a spa-like mood for your bath with the right accessories. Candles lightly flickering in the background and soft music are sure to help you forget your worries, at least for a little while.

Connect with Nature

Natural elements abound in spas. Softly running water, stone and living plants help create a calming connection with nature. Bring a potted plant into your spa bath to give it a similar feeling. Plus, plants often thrive in the bath thanks to the high levels of moisture and humidity.

Expand the Look of Your Space

Anyone with a small bath knows that there's not much you can do to make it bigger without spending a fortune on renovation. The good news is that you can make it look bigger with an affordable alternative. Hang large mirrors to give the illusion that your space isn't quite so tight.

Color Change

One of the easiest ways to give your bath a new look is with a color change. A coat of paint is an inexpensive option that can completely transform the feel of your bath. Try white for a clean, crisp, sparse look. Or consider a rich neutral for an earthy effect. Either way, a couple gallons of paint and a few hours of work could give you the bath of your dreams.

My Cozy Corner

I've not been well since I came back from the Raya holiday break. One after another my, its been a big change in my daily routine. One thing I missed most is sitting in this corner of mine, sipping my morning coffee while catching up with my mails, Facebook & blogs.
So, here I am at this very moment, posting this from this very spot.

I'm linking this post to Patty's Cozy Corners September. Thanks Patty, now I feel really special of this corner of mine.

Roses with love

My mother-in-law just loves roses so much so, my sister-in-law told me not to inform her that I'm going to Cameron. "She'll surely ask you to buy a pot of roses" she said.

I still did buy her a pot of roses. What better way to say it than flowers

This idea was inspired by The Key Bunch and I'm joining their September Blog Carnival: Say it with flowers na! Thanks a bunch!

Wish I live here...

The idea of Cameron come to me when I receive 'Stay 1 nite, free 1 nite' offer @ a well-known hotel. I just happened to come across 'Bala's Chalet' and my husband immediately decided that's where we should stay. Although I was reluctant at first, when we arrived, I couldn't agree more. I was glad he made the choice.
If you're at the highland, this is the type of place you should stay. Set amidst lush greenery, rolling hills and majestic mountains, "The Bala's Holiday Chalet" is a charming English style inn that provides the perfect blend of old world ambience and contemporary comfort. With its serenity and country charm, the hotel captures the very essence of a highland holiday.
Bala's Chalet is one of the oldest colonial buildings built during the pre-war era and has been preserved in its original structure till today. Opened as a boarding school 1934 for European expatriate children as a branch of the more famous Tanglin school in Singapore.
It's present owner, K. Balakrishnan, a local boy bought over this property with Peter Blumbach, a German businessman after the school closed down and turned it into a guesthouse which became a fine place to stay in years. In spite of the numerous refurbishment, the original Tudor concept is still being preserved.

Bala's is also famous for its Tea & scones and I can't agree more.

Yoga for the home

Some useful Vastu tips from VAST interior
I'm not really a vastu person but this is practical. No harm taking a few advice. Read the full article here.

#1 Furniture Placement - Sofa sets can be against the south and west walls (and if need against east walls), not touching them. The area between the sets relating to the southwest (strength corner) can have waist level landscaping done with heavy indoor plants and small rocks and stones.

#2 Maximise Space - If you're tired of the same old approach to decorating your eat-in space, try replacing a few chairs with a bench. This option is especially ideal for a dining area that's high on style but low on space. A bench can be fully concealed under a dining table to maximise floor space in high traffic areas.

#3 Bedroom Furnishings and Decorations - Since the bedroom is one of the most private places of the house, furnishings and decorations are very important as per the Vastu. As you enter the bedroom, have something positive like a painting, your favourite photograph or any piece of  wall hanging to give a positive and welcoming feeling. Also the furniture of the bedroom should be in the same style and pattern. If that is not completely possible then at least maintain a uniformity of colour.

# 4 Use of Natural Materials - tile, stone, true adobe, brick, natural linoleum, bamboo, wood all enhance the health and energy of your space and the people who dwell there.

# 5  A well designed garden using the principles of Vastu, will benefit you and all the members of your family for years to come. By reconnecting with the natural balance inherent in the environment, you will encourage better personal health, improve the quality of relationships and enhance well-being. Northeast is the direction where the energy waves of the water element collect and makes the best placement for indoor and outdoor water features.

#6  Living Colour - The colour of the wall in living rooms should be white, yellow, blue or green. Prefer light colours over dark colors. Avoid black and red colour in the living room.

Well, this is the very first time I'm posting my very own pictures. As you can see, I'm not that of a photographer. I've tried taking pictures of my home decors but it will just end up in recycle bin...

Thanks to Patricia of Colours Dekor for hosting 'Tabletop August' I've taken the first step...

What's my story? I just love to have plants around the house, there is one one each table.
