Yoga for the home

Some useful Vastu tips from VAST interior
I'm not really a vastu person but this is practical. No harm taking a few advice. Read the full article here.

#1 Furniture Placement - Sofa sets can be against the south and west walls (and if need against east walls), not touching them. The area between the sets relating to the southwest (strength corner) can have waist level landscaping done with heavy indoor plants and small rocks and stones.

#2 Maximise Space - If you're tired of the same old approach to decorating your eat-in space, try replacing a few chairs with a bench. This option is especially ideal for a dining area that's high on style but low on space. A bench can be fully concealed under a dining table to maximise floor space in high traffic areas.

#3 Bedroom Furnishings and Decorations - Since the bedroom is one of the most private places of the house, furnishings and decorations are very important as per the Vastu. As you enter the bedroom, have something positive like a painting, your favourite photograph or any piece of  wall hanging to give a positive and welcoming feeling. Also the furniture of the bedroom should be in the same style and pattern. If that is not completely possible then at least maintain a uniformity of colour.

# 4 Use of Natural Materials - tile, stone, true adobe, brick, natural linoleum, bamboo, wood all enhance the health and energy of your space and the people who dwell there.

# 5  A well designed garden using the principles of Vastu, will benefit you and all the members of your family for years to come. By reconnecting with the natural balance inherent in the environment, you will encourage better personal health, improve the quality of relationships and enhance well-being. Northeast is the direction where the energy waves of the water element collect and makes the best placement for indoor and outdoor water features.

#6  Living Colour - The colour of the wall in living rooms should be white, yellow, blue or green. Prefer light colours over dark colors. Avoid black and red colour in the living room.

What's on my table?

Well, this is the very first time I'm posting my very own pictures. As you can see, I'm not that of a photographer. I've tried taking pictures of my home decors but it will just end up in recycle bin...

Thanks to Patricia of Colours Dekor for hosting 'Tabletop August' I've taken the first step...

What's my story? I just love to have plants around the house, there is one one each table.
